    About Us

Rural Bounty seeks to become the premier listing for all farms, ranches, wineries, CSA's, farmers' markets and other businesses with rural roots, according to its creator, Jane Eckert, leading Agritourism expert in North America and a sixth generation farmer's daughter.

Jane Eckert, founder of Rural Bounty"America needs a single website where people can quickly and easily search for fresh produce, organic products, a farm, a ranch, a hayride, a winefest-or anything on the farm," Jane said. "RuralBounty.com allows you to choose a state, a city, a zip code, a product, or a special activity, and our dynamic search engines will help you locate exactly what you are looking for in just a matter of seconds."

We want to encourage all businesses with a rural base, including farms, ranches, wineries, farmers markets, bed and breakfasts in the country, community supported agriculture (CSA) programs, organic farms and ranches, farm stands and markets, rural lodging, and outdoor sports such as hunting lodges and cross country ski lodges.

Jane Eckert is the CEO of Eckert AgriMarketing, a firm specializing in agrimarketing and agritourism, teaching farms and ranches how to move beyond commodities, marketing their farm products directly to the public. Jane has been the keynote speaker or presented agritourism workshops in 36 U.S. states plus five Canadian provinces. She is the author of the "Fresh Grown" book series, which currently includes six books on marketing and communications and several instructional CDs, and has been interviewed by USA Today, Time, and more than a hundred other publications, and radio and television stations.

In 2008, Jane was elected into the prestigious NAFDMA Hall of Fame by the Board of Directors of the North American Farmers' Direct Marketing Association. Jane has served as the association's president, and in 2005 was awarded the NAFDMA Outstanding Leadership Award. She is also past president of the St. Louis Attractions Association, the Belleville, Illinois Tourism Association, and she has been an active member in the Convention and Visitor's Bureau in both Missouri and Illinois.

Also in 2008, Jane was selected by the World Agri Tourism Conference in India as the only American to receive their Agri Tourism Excellence Achievement Award for her role in promoting "the concept Agri Tourism throughout the world for the betterment of farmers' livelhood in rural parts of the world."
